Welcome to SDA -- Chattanooga Chapter! (Where
Dogs are Educated and Dog Owners are Trained!)
A Personal Message from Club President
Hello Fellow SDA (Service Dogs of America) members
and associates.
This past weekend's SDA Dog trial was a nice
success. I want to personally thank everyone who made
it out in support of this SDA Dog Sport Trial. Jack
Rayl (SDA Director) called it 'A Success Beyond
Expectations'. A personal thank you goes out to Barry
Vradenburg, the Trial Judge. Barry did a great job of
judging the titled events during the trial as well as
judging the other trial events. Thank you Barry! Jack
Rayl, did a great as an MC and Commentator of the Trial.
Other thanks go out to Tom Cawood for being a huge part
of putting this trial together. Sherle Thompson served
as the trial Secretary as well as Pam Berry. Dennis
Tate served as the Trial helper, and Jeff Ross
professionally assisted as well. Kathy Cawood and
Ashley Faircloth undoubtedly did a great job
with Hospitality. Chris Smith graciously served as the
Treasurer.
There were winners of several titles and trial events will be posted
soon! A combination total of 16 tropies/plaques were
given out as awards to top performers during the trial.
All participants that earned titles in the trial will
receive official UKC certificates. Great job!
Thanks, Dennis Tate
Hey everyone! I wanted to remind you
there will be a SDA monthly meeting tomorrow
night at Ryan's on Hixson Pike beginning at
7:30. Please come early if you plan to
eat. I know we talked about having a cook
out at Chester Frost, but time has gotten
away from me and I failed to make a
reservation at the Park. We will try to
have a cook out next month.
P.S. Any and all non-members that have expressed
interest in SDA are welcome to attend this meeting. . .
we would be glad to have you come and learn more about
our club.
Thanks ... see you Tuesday night. Tom
Hello all. If you would, please bring your ideas
regarding what you thought about the past SDA Trial and
mainly how we can improve even more in any given area on
our next trial/event. Also, we will plan to discuss
other important topics that will improve training
sessions, demonstrations, personal motivation, upcoming
events, etc.. As our club grows and improves, so will
and should the way we operate in all facets. ...see
everyone at the meeting today. We've come a long way
and still coming!
See you at Ryan's on Hixson Pike this evening @ 7:30
pm.

Service Dogs of America
--
is the first
and ONLY working dog organization in
the United States of America that recognizes Protection, Police
Patrol K-9 and Search & Rescue titles through a National
Registry, the United Kennel Club.
SDA
MISSION STATEMENT:
Service Dogs of America is
dedicated to developing, preserving and using a canine's
natural instincts, intelligence and tractability to perform
meaningful, utilitarian tasks for humankind. The organization is
comprised of individual members and affiliated local dog
training clubs. It's goal is to use proven common sense methods
for training both canine and handler while maximizing the
social, family orientation and sport aspects of activities
centered on dog training and breeding evaluation.
The SDA Chattanooga chapter was
initially founded by Dennis Tate and Tom Calderone in November 2006.
After membership drive efforts and organization strategies, Dennis
Tate founded the SDA Chattanooga and Hixson Chapter for formal
chartering in 2008. With the assistance of 5 officers and many
others, the Chattanooga & Hixson SDA chapter will become the
"snowball that rolls uphill" towards K9 Services and Success
This chapter has grown
tremendously since its founding. It now has over
20 human members and even more canine participants.
