We have several levels of protection
training.
We have a
Protection Alert title --
this is a great title for a family dog. This type training
allows you to teach your dog to alert to strangers but they are
not actually taught to bite. We also teach the dog to
"turn off" which shows that you can bring your dog back under
control after being "activated".
We also have a
Protection Dog 1 (P1) title. This
title is the provides dog
owners a clear understanding of the skills a dog and handler
should know and be able to demonstrate in order to have a safe
and dependable family protection dog. This title was designed to
meet the training needs of most people and families that have an
interest or need for a family protection dog. The exercises are
easy to understand and very entertaining to watch. This title
lays the foundation for the more advances protection titles.
This is an excellent way for new people to be introduced to
protection training. The P-1 represents the whole concept
behind Service Dogs of America. This title offers fun, useful
training exercises that are designed to meet the needs, interest
and lifestyles of Americans and their dogs. Service Dogs of
America designed all of its training titles on the above
criteria. Service Dogs of America considers the Protection Dog
1, one of its Crown Jewels. We are truly excited about this
title's ability to attract new people to the pleasures and
benefits of dog training. Every training exercise required for
this title is beneficial to developing a well-behaved family
companion dog and a safe dependable family protection dog.
